Biography:
Soko Takamori entered the world of ceramics at the age of
21. After seven years of apprenticeship, she studied history
of Arita-yaki and set up her own Kama,,Klin in Tokyo, where
she creates ceramics that suit everyday life but also follow
traditions. The relationship between light and ceramics are
the most important issue for her. "No works can exist
without the influences of light and shadow. I try to make
my works gather, reflect and scatter light." .Her works
looks quite simple, which is possible because of her high
ability as a craftsman. "My craftsmanship never extinguish
my originality as an artist. I'd rather say the simpler works
become by skilled technique, the more myself come out."
This might be the reason why the simplicity of her ceramics
attracts us a lot.
