Biography:
Suzuki Takashi is deeply interested in the psychology of seeing
and looking. In his work, he explores how reality and ideas
are translated into different interpretative forms.
Born in 1971 in Nagano,
Japan, Suzuki now lives and works in Kyoto.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Boston in 1996,
he studied at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf as a guest in Thomas
Ruff's class. At the same time, between 2001 and 2002, Suzuki
worked as an intern for Thomas Struth. In 2004, he began working
as a teacher's assistant for Senju Hiroshi, Miyajima Tatsuo
and Morimura Yasumasa at the International Research Center
for the Arts (IRCA) in Kyoto University of Art and Design.
