Biography:
Artist / Ph.D.
Sugihara is an advocate of the water-friendly spaces "Mizunova" where people can come into contact with water without getting wet. Total attendance thus far is 1.17 million. Her dream is to install water domes all over the world to share the refreshing feeling with the
people who experience it.

1974 Born in Tokyo
1996 Graduated from the Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences,Musashino Art University
1998 Completed the master's degree program of the Design Course at the Graduate school of Art and Design, Musashino Art University
2001 Obtained a Ph.D. at the Department of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, Graduate School of Engineerings, the University of Tokyo
2002 Went to Paris to study water fountain in Western Europe as a young artist from the Pola Art Foundation,
2003~ Currently teaching at Tohoku University of Art & Design as an assistant professor at the Department of Fine Product Design
